Seven posts of Senior Mining Geologist are vacant in Indian Bureau of Mines under the Ministry of Mines and is to be filled up by deputation including short term contract basis.

The Senior Mining Geologist is responsible to conducting Integrated Geological Studies for appraisal of mineral deposits and also to undertake MCDR inspection of mines in any part of the country and abroad. Conducting technoeconomic feasibility studies and scrutiny of mining ptan/mining schemes and examination of stopping proposals, and environmental studies. Periodic updation of National Mineral Inventory of leasehold areas. Guiding and supervision the work of such officers who are placed under him.

As per the Recruitment Rules for the post of Senior Mining Geologist, the candidate to be considered for appointment by deputation including short term contract from the officers from the Central Government or State Government or
Union Territories or Autonomous or Statutory Organisation or Public Sector Undertakings or University or recognised Research Institution:
(A) (i) holding analogous post on a regular basis in the pa-rent cadre or department; or
(ii)with five years regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in level -10 (Rs. 56100-I775OO) in the pay matrix.

The deputation period will be initially for 03 years and will be considered for further extension on the basis of requirement of this department and NOC from the parent department.
